An Allis B Grandpa used to let me ride around with him from the time I was little. That double wide seat made for both of us being comfy. About the time I turned 8 or so he started letting me drive it in first gear. I have a lot of memories of that tractor. Grandpa loved to blow stumps out of the ground with dynamite. He"d dig under the stump, set a stick or two and add the cap and fuse. He was old and couldn"t run fast by then so he"d have the Allis close by and running when he"d light the fuse. Then he"d clamber up on it and skedaddle out of there in high gear. I"d stand on the drawbar and hang on to the seat back. That Allis always seemed incredibly SLOW as we were hurrying away from the blast site. Grandpa would laugh and chuckle like a big kid when the blast went off and dirt and wood rained down. Afterwards he"d be in a jolly mood and let me drive the tractor.
