We have a '77 Loadstarr with a 404 gas. 5&2 gets about 8mpg empty. The old 345--392s did better on fuel in my opinion, and were a better engine. Ours has a 9 foot dump & falls just under cdl requirements. There were some trucks built a few yearts ago that were over cdl limits with hyd. brakes, and some under with air. When I first got my cdl, I did not have air brake endorsement. Had to take a written test to get that added.
