I wonder if the motor would stand up to the end and side thrust from the auger? All the commercial ones I've seen have some sort of gear box or hub to take the thrust instead of the motor. I hear you rrlund but with hydraulic drive I could also mount it to my loader tractor bucket for the really tough areas. I haven't made up my mind what I will do but I am tired of always cranking the three point lift arms on my three point trying to get straight holes on my hills.
