Similar event - borrowed my nephews nearly new JD lawn tractor and leaf vac. Tractor is hydro with foot control and "cruise control" on the right fender. I was switching off between cruise and foot control. Came around a tight corner between the fence and a tree and over shot the corner. Tire went under the fence so I mashed the reverse foot control - too bad the cruise had me locked in forward. Mind you my hand is still on the cruise lever. Before my brain could telegraph my hand to pull back I hit the fence. The inertia pushed me and my stupid hand forward and my foot under the clutch. There I sat tight to the fence wheels spinning lookin' dazed and cornfused. Hope nobody saw me! Note to self HANDS OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL!!
