My dad used to be a tire guy, and he stands by Cooper tires. I know they can cost a little bit more too, but I've never had problems with them.
I also had a set of Sport King's on my truck and I loved them. They were great in mud even with my 2wd F150, and would have been better if I had 4x4.
The one brand I highly encourage you to stay away from is Uniroyal. We've had lots of troubles with their tires in the past, and when the tires later end up on the hay wagons, they're the first ones to go flat over the 25 year old dry-rotted tire right next to it.
