Probably had air in system to begin with.Heater core in particular.In warmer weather,you'll have pressure.
I always run the engine at about 1500 RPM with cap off until t-stat opens and water runs through veins in rad.Great way to get air out,but it takes practice to not make a mess and hold the throttle. ~brad
