Some engines have an oil squirt hole in the rod or at the parting line between the rod and cap. These holes are to oil either the cam lobes or the cylinder walls. if this type of rod is installed wrong the part they should oil will not get enough lubrication or cooling. Most people dont realize that pistons are cooled by oil.
