You should sign it with oversize or wideload signs and flag the outermost parts of the load . It might not be the law but it's a good idea . If you have to move at night , lights on the outer parts of the load with red pointing to the rear and amber pointing forward are a good idea even if not the law . You are allowed three inches of overhang on the sides of a trailer ( that's just the slack they might allow you for safety devices IE; tie downs ) so that still leaves you with six inches of load outside that limit assuming the load is perfectly positioned on the trailer .
