Tell him do not ignore it and try to tuff it out. I did about 20 years and when I finally went to doc I was in so much pain I could not walk. Time I got to hospital I was begging for any type of pain medicine and could not even take my boots off, could barely move. They operated on me and when they cut me open gangrene went everywhere. They said they had to disinfect the operating room several times before they could use it again. Surgeon said it was one of the worst looking appendicitis he had ever seen. I learned after that not to be so stubborn. So by all means make sure he has it checked out, now it is a very simple operation.
