Our son, Casey is in the Navy stationed at Groton, Ct. He is supposed to get leave to come home for Christmas, fly into Chicago Friday night late and then catch a ride to Walnut, Ill. to his sisters, and we will pick him up there. He called tonite and talked to my wife, said he isn't feeling well, had gone to Dr. and they said he might be having appendicitis attack, if he gets feeling worse in the night to get to hospital immediatly. Wife is very upset, she has been missing him and was looking forward to seeing him at Christmas. Please pray that he will get better and be able to come home for Christmas. Thank you, will keep you posted on how he gets along. Chris

Tell him do not ignore it and try to tuff it out. I did about 20 years and when I finally went to doc I was in so much pain I could not walk. Time I got to hospital I was begging for any type of pain medicine and could not even take my boots off, could barely move. They operated on me and when they cut me open gangrene went everywhere. They said they had to disinfect the operating room several times before they could use it again. Surgeon said it was one of the worst looking appendicitis he had ever seen.
I learned after that not to be so stubborn.
So by all means make sure he has it checked out, now it is a very simple operation.

Try to be the person your dog thinks you are

Tell him to ghet to the hospital now. When nI was in Air Force they put me off at sickcall and mine burst after they decided I was serious. Were prepping me on way to hospital in ambulance Also, they now do the operation laproscopically and you go home same day and can travel in about 3 days. Wife just had her cancer removed with a robot and instead of 6 weeks recovery, we wnet home the next day and fully recovered in a week.

By all means, make sure he gets to that doctor and the hospital, this procedure is seemingly straight forward for most people these days, you're out in 3 days, maybe less now, at least I was 9 years ago.

I knew something was up yet I pulled (3) 12's at work after I first noticed the pains, not realizing how dangerous this could be, job comes first and all that jazz, waited until friday afternoon, finish the week out, no lost time etc., doctor had me admitted immediately after the examination, so I checked in and took my place in line on the gurney, must have been busy, there were several others ahead of me or just in line. Woke up the next morning after the initial wake up from recovery, a little sick from the anesthesia, held my own, no upchuck but felt like it, fought that off, then was real hungry, in/out sleeping the rest of the day, left Sun mid-day, with a shot of demerol on the way out, watched the In-Laws with Peter Falk and Alan Arkin at a friends place, was so hard not to laugh, the darned incision etc., following saturday was on my skates in my regular league hockey game, was a done deal, doc said it was ok, just take er easy. I did take the week off to recover though.

Thoughts/prayers are with your family, make sure he gets this taken care of, he'll get home after it's done, might be late, but healthy, stand tall and stay strong !

Prayers are said for you and yours. Do us all a favor and tell him to get to a hospital now. What would happen if he had a serious attack on the plane. Tell him to get it fixed and he can still be home for Christmas safe and healthy.

You have my prayers, hopefully nothing serious, but get it taken care of right away. Better to miss a Christmas than the alternative.

He should go to the hospital ASAP. My wife's sister had her appendix to burst and peranitis
which is a real bad infection had started. They can determine if its his appendix very quickly by pressing the right side on his stomach. Hal

Prayers are on the way. I agree with the previous post. The issue needs to be fixed before it gets worse. Keep us posted on his condition.

You've got it. BUT,if that is what's wrong, make sure he has it taken care of ASAP or this won't be the only Christmas she will be without him. Take it from somebody too stubborn to get it tended to when he should have, that's some bad stuff. Hope he just has it out and is released the next day.
