Eight of us had our first plowday last April. We invited the local newspaper photographer (grew up on a farm) and we ended up on the first page of our weekly newspaper (city of 9000). Even though the field was not on a main road, at one point I counted 20 cars stopped. Some were families with kids. Most fun scene was 3 little boys had taken off their shoes and were running barefoot thru the plowed soil...kids nowadays never get to feel that on their toes! After that picture hit the paper, I had 3 farmers contact me asking to join in next yr. We might have a food tent next yr, maybe have some families help out or maybe a service club can help and keep the profits. We also might put an announcement in the paper ahead of time. Need a loader tractor for getting plows off trailers and for troubles. Sure was a fun day.
