4X4 is only hard on gas if it doesn't have lock out and your a fool to own one that doesn't have them. As far as insurance I think a 4X4 is cheaper or at least in my case it seems to be. Now to aul a tractor you need a real truck and they stopped makeing them around 1990 or so. Now days they make urban trucks. They look like trucks but they are a family car with a bed sort of like the old el-camenos etc. Plus a 1500 chev is only good for maybe 4000-5000 LBS of trailor load being that new.
