Not sure what you mean by clutch not staying in gear. Has your pressure plate been adjusted? These also have to be adjusted with the engine clutch best I remember. Haven't had mine apart in 20 years. The last time I replaced cultches in mine seemed like it was fairly simple, but like I say it was 20 years ago.
