My wife has an ebay store for selling kids clothes. Far as I can tell it's a waste of money. Sure, every once in a while she'll sell a cute little outfit for eight bucks but there's ebay every month taking sixteen...
Also, pyshologically I think there is less incentive to buy stuff that's just sitting around in a store. It's the auctions that excite people and get them to spend. Of course it takes time to set up every auction I guess.
I second Steve's advice about auction end times. I've bailed on a couple of items just becuase they have end times where I'm at work or in transit or something. Pretty well anyone can get to their computer after dinner on Sunday though.
All in all -- I'd start by advertising them here.
