I usually keep 40 gal in 5 gal cans in an outdoor bin as an emergency supply for the generator, and treat it all with Sta-Bil. It keeps well through the winter. As spring comes along, I start using it for the yard machines and tractors until it's used up and refill for the next winter so, in my experience, it'll keep gas good for a year.
