I guess I don't totally agree with a car that smells like hog feces is the way to go, I'll bet he problably lost some women that might have made good wives. Not going overboard with an elaborate dinner and making yourself out to be rich is one thing, but to drive a car thats that bad isn't good either. I think you can learn far more about them just by listening to them. You can tell if they got expensive tastes by what they say and how they act. Make sure you wear some nice shoes, believe it or not its claimed to be the first thing a woman notices about a man and its important to them thats why every woman in america has got a pair of shoes for every occasion. Income is also pretty important, while I agree they need to like you for you, if they think your totally broke, thats a turn off. I'd take her to a place classier than the golden arches, I'd go to a middle of the road resturant, or basically a place that has good food for reasonable prices. Good luck,
