I"m in north central Ohio, and it took four cuttings this year to get the same amount of hay I usually get in two. Using more fuel, I sold 4x5 rounds for $35 this year (I was selling them for $25 last year). Ads in the local paper were selling the same size bales for $45-60. There weren"t many ads either. I have some regular customers and I would rather treat them fairly than try to make a couple extra dollars.
I"ve sold out already, but by not trying to get top dollar, hopefully I"ll have the same loyal customers next year.
