I don't think we are going to sell any small square bales for less than $5 and by late winter I wouldn't be sirprised to see hay prices double from a year ago. Here in Iowa hay is in very tight supply and there is alot of demand both locally and from other parts of the country. I think they hay market should remain very strong for the next few years unless we see some wide spread ideal growing conditions that allows the areas suffering from very dry conditions the past several years to catch up. The only thing that concerns me about the hay market is the horse hay market and how the slowing economy could effect that as it appears alot of horse owner's can't afford to feed what they have already.
