Ford really hosed up the anti theft design. On many models it is dependant on the dome light going on to set it off. Here in Texas they take a pair of long nose and bust two fins out of the grill allowing them to grasp the hood release cable with the pliers, open the hood and cut the battery cable. No power..no alarm. Seen many Expeditions busted into this way. Local cops traced alot of it to window tint and stereo installation joints. They would get the address of the Expedition owners and go get the DVD players and such ay night.
If you can get some help and the driveway isn't too steep put a hydraulic jack under the differential and lift the rear wheels an inch off the ground...a guy with a good back can move the beast all around until you are able to fix it.
