havvey, i would agree with you on that. if all you are doing is taking the largest and most healthy of a species, then the breeding stock will be coming from the smaller animals. kinda like building a herd of cattle with a crappy bull. many areas are overpopulated with deer, that population gets weak, produces smaller animals. i think they need to do a little better management. issue doe permits to cut back the herd size, also issue permits for the smaller bucks.
