one thing that you can try is to leave the fuel shut off and crank the engine over. this will warm up the combustion chamber without flooding it with fuel. my 1952 Oliver 88D is the best starting tractor out of the six desiel tractors we run. on cold days i usually put a charger on the battery to warm it up to.
