Case in point: John Deere two cylinder tractors sold like mad but they are at the very bottom of the best overall tractor list of all time. In addition, John Deere has enjoyed great success in the years since they saw the light and ceased production of the 2 bangers and all that success is certainly not due to superior products--rather it is superior marketing and service after the sale that has John Deere where it is today. So sales figures cannot possibly used in this kind of argument. Sales can be discussed if we want to talk about the best tractors for helping stuff the pockets of the people on Wall Street.
