There are many people like you, that only know the N-series tractors. Therefore, I find them pretty high priced for what they are. They were certainly good tractors in their day, way ahead. One will get your work done, and there are a lot out there so parts are easy to find. They are durable too. Some newer tractors will provide you with some really nice features. Live hydraulics makes a loader much easier to use. Live pto makes it much easier & MUCH safer to use pto implements. A littler heavier makes it easier & safer to use 3-point equipment. And so on. I see an N tractor sell for $3500 sometimes, & a 506 IHC diesel in good condition go for $2500 at times. The 506 is 60 hp, much better in all of the above, etc. Might actually be too big for you... But, anyhow, you could do better than an N. The Ford 100 series tractors are also very good & more capible and you could find one in your size. Some of the new compact tractors also will have every feature you could want. Look to spend $15,000 tho. But they seem to hold their resale value forever, since there are many people like you wanting one. I don't want to tell you not to get a N, just know a little more of what is out there... --->Paul
