Jaker...I had one go bad while on the road. I put a pin in the bracket and put a shut-off cable like the old Cummins engines had years ago. Been like that for 5 or so years. Pull to run...push in to stop. If you have a manual you will want to insure it in the lock position when out. If the truck gets bumped and rolls any at all when pushed it...it will start. I put mine in 1st gear and lock it out. There was an article about this in the Diesel Registry magazine a few months back. Just my 2 cents.
