I have two trucks, one's a 14' grain box 72 GMC 5500 with a sill plate tag GCWR of 17500. I run a wieght of 28000 or 350 bu all the time with no trouble. The build sticker in the glove box says it has 26000 lb rear overload springs factory installed. The other one is a C65 16 ft. with a GCWR of 24500. On that one I run 32000 to 34000 lbs or 375 to 400 Bu all the time with no troubles. Oh by the way I travel on gravel roads only. The Dot bears don't want to get the Expeditions dirty, they stay on the main state roads. The old trucks were way over built and overloading was expected by the engineers of the time so your only deterent to proper loading is the dot gestopo goons.
