What my question is my 84 ford pickup 6 cylinder 300 motor quits while driving down the road. It quits just like the switch is shut off. It did this yesterday and this morning i went out to start it and fired up almost insantly which it normally does. I have put new plug wires coil wire new dist.cap and rotor in it sometime back. What i think is my problem is the control assembly on the dist. as there are two old ones in the glove box and this one was installed in 1998. What do you guy,s think it could be? I have ruled out fuel problem or could it be possible the float somehow shuts off the gas? It doesn,t have the electric shut off like the newer ones do. Thank you for your help Debert.
