I don't know anything about your specific model of tractor but it sounds like the battery terminals need to be cleaned and the battery charged. If it doesn't want to take a charge it maybe shot and you'll have to get a new one. You can have it checked out at an auto part store.
The next thing you need to do is to get a owners manual for your tractor to tell you how to operate it. If you have NH dealer near by he might be able to get you one. Or get on ebay, Business & Agriculture, and see if you can find a manual. Look at the Parts folks on the left of this page and see if they have one.
