I feel fortunate to have sat and talked with the old timers I have known over the years. I have learned more from them than I could have from any school or books. It is amazing that there are still "links to the 1800s" still with us. My Grandma told me about camping in Yellowstone park in 1918 and also her school hack driver was a civil war vet!(She could never use that old line " I walked 15 miles to school everyday", she walked a few miles to a neighboring farm to meet everone else who rode into town on a wagon) It shows just how short life is that I knew someone who talked with a civil war vet! My great great aunt who was very old when I was 4 I remember. she was born in 1879 and went up Pikes peak on the new cog railroad in 1898 and wrote all about it in her journals and took pictures too!. I think the way they were raised did a lot for them in life and that "way" is rapidly disapearing. I really miss them all related or not.
