Well I just put up 60 4x5 round bales on my first haying experience. I had planted about 15 - 18 acres in red top cane that turned out really well due to timely rains we had this year. My uncle sold us his Vicon 1210 baler along with a JD 1209 mower and 10 wheel rake for $5000. I split this with my dad and brother as we all will share this. It seemed to fit my JD 3020 pretty well. It was definately trial and error for me. I had one bale about 300lbs and one that got kicked out without any twine but I learned a lot and had a real good time doing it. Kinda makes you crack a smile looking back at the line of hay stacked. I think I will go ahead and try to get the other 40 acres of lake bottom plowed and ready and see what happens next year.
