Used to go to a "stylist" and payed $15 for a hair cut that included blow drying and styling. I always tipped because the guy went out of his way to get my scheduled in around my work schedule, and he could have been doing some nice looking womans hair for $60 instead of mine for $15. I thought it was a fair to give a little extra for the good service. When that shop moved too far away I changed to a local barber and I still usually tip a dollar or two extra if I"ve got it. Where I go now it"s just two guys and the locals hanging out so I always enjoy the huntin", fishin", and farmin" talk. Some folks seem to think that being a barber is an uneducated form of work. Maybe they don"t have to go to class and learn advanced English and Trig but to get to be a licensed barber they do have to go to school. I"ve had mine cut/butchered once by someone that didn"t know what they were doing, so now I leave it to the professionals.
