I don't think they make bad gear oil.....As most producers will provide the same oil under 3 diffrent names. you gotta look for the oil rating. when buying engine oil even the cheepest of oil will have a oil rating that meets or exceeds todays car requirements. In all my cars/trucks I run castrol syntec 5w-50 6 bucks a quart, but i dont need to change my oil till it starts to get dirty, or 12,000 miles. I NEVER had a oil related problume, plus it will pour like a 5 weight and proctect against heat and visicosity breakdown like a 50 weight. Now if you have a oil leak run the cheep stuff. In all my farmalls I run 10-40 even in the winter as my tractors are inside. I wont run synthectic in the old tractors as they are not fuel injected and as a result there is more cylinder wash from gasoline.
