We're all cow calf now,so feeding holsteins is a thing of the past,but for what it's worth on the bottle or nipple thing....my uncle used to work for Carnation. He showed me one time how much milk replacer seperated and was left on the bottom of the pail from pail feeding. Recomended a bottle or nipple pail to get all the solids in to the calf. Had a neighbor complaining once that he was loosing calves. Said they were thin and looked like they were starving to death. He was buying the cheapest lowest fat TSC milk replacer he could get,then on top of that,he didn't read the instructions on the bag,was using one measure of milk replacer per calf,label called for 2 for holsteins.
