Those slant 6"s were good engines. I put 1/4 million miles on one in a Volare. Rreplaced darned near everything on the outside of the engine a time or two but never had the rocker cover or oil pan off. well I did have to replace the rocker cover gasket once.
Changing the starter was a 15 min job hanging over the fender :) Good thing too , they seemed to last about 50K.
