A 97 Dakota with a 6 cyl, 5 speed. When you are driving and slow down to make a sharp turn, or stop at a light, the oil pressure drops to 0 and the bell goes off. Soon as you give it a little gas, it comes back up. Carries 40 # cold and about 25# warmed up. Asked a local mechanic about it and he said it's probably the sending unit, that he has a newer Ram and it does the same thing. I want to put a guage on it so I know for sure. Where is the sending unit located on the motor? I changed the oil yesterday and looked the lower side of motor over real good and didn't see anything. The top side is quite cluttered, but found one on back of intake manifold beneath the plug wires about 2 1/2 inches tall. Not sure if it's for oil or water. Didn't see anything else. If I find the sending unit and replace with a line to guage, will the bell ring all of the time because it's not hooked up? Wondered it I would have to put a T in the line and hook up both. Changed the oil and filter and added a bottle of Lucas oil treatment. Any help appreciated, Chris
