Before ripping into the transmission, find out what is wrong.
Put a pressure gauge on the pto clutch apply circuit. If the pto stops with the proper apply pressure then maybe the clutch is faulty.
When was the last time the hydraulic oil, oil filter and screen were changed or serviced?
Has your 4430 had the rear axle upgrade? What serial number?
Do you have the operator's and service manuals?
