We put a lot of money in CDs at banks via the internet and mail. If they are listed at bankrate.com that is the first hurdle. The second is we get their FDIC number and look them up to make sure that they are insured by the FDIC. Don�t put in more at an institution that what the FDIC will cover for loss.

The local banks don�t pay anything by comparison.
