I think thats pretty good for what you're doing. My old '88 350 got around 12mpg unloaded if I really worked at it. You didn't say but something tells me yours is extended cab, and an automatic. You also don't say but I'd guess the HD gives you towing gears which are hard on mileage but better for the transmission.

If you really pull alot, like pulling your 2 tractors all the time, you really should have gotten a diesel. For the infrequent heavy tower (like not ever week) a gas engine makes more sense.

Plus that 6l must move right out.
