I think the Nebraska Cowman has a good point on this. My son in law, who was raised and lived in town all his live and played ball and vidio games is dumb as a rock. After getting to know him he wasn't as dumb as I thought he just hadn't been taught anything. They all put to much stock in computers and the like instead of teaching these kids how to make it in the real world. More and more the old ways are being lost. I had some kids come here last year and watch us kill hogs and they thought that was the neatest thing they had ever seen. Me too, they turned the sausage grinder. They had never seen any of this done. I showed them the whole process from killing, bleeding, scalding and scraping right to trimming and salting hams and rendoring lard. Most of them really liked the cracklings.
