The young ones which were born in April are starting out on their own now. Each one digs it's own den. They don't like to be together other than when the mother has her young. So, you have a lot more work to do now than if you'd been able to get them a few months ago. I put a flexible hose down one hole (they have at least two holes per den) plug the other hole (usually just run a truck wheel over it) attach it to truck exhaust (gasser) and let it run (idle) for about a half hour. It helps if the woodchuck is in the hole when you do this. If it's inside the machine shed, you'll need a hose that's long enough to reach in from the outside. I've also heard that bubble gum works good. Plugs them up. Someone here said that it does work very well. I tried rat bait onetime with mixed results. I think it took out a few. Shooting is time consuming and if they're inside the shed you have to wait till they come out and get clear of buildings and machinery. One reason that I prefer .22LR but if your eyes are bad that won't work anyway. Some breeds of dogs go after them.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
