They are thick around here lately, I've noticed, hay fields I was in earlier this week had numerous dens all over the fields. I remember one time extending a long extension cord, a fan and some dried up grass, and was blowing smoke down into the hole, my friend just happened to see this insanity from the 2 lane state road and had to stop in to see what in the heck was going on, box fan, extension cord, smoke, down in the middle of a field, like what exactly are you doing. Well you had to be there, it did no good, but we still laugh about it today. Get a .22 and sight it in, and or the other methods sure would seem to work. I had the one here for several years that was friendly, he must haved passed on, was a cool little guy, but now since the new generation of them are around, the mischief factor has increased, they like flowers that is for sure, but they don't mess with my vegetable garden, yet one end is still open, will be closed off tomorrow. I may have to revert to knocking a few of them off, always hate doing it, but I've noticed an increase in the population and they can be trouble sometimes.
