8N or 3400 Diesel ???

Hi, I have a BIG question now... I have been planning on getting an 8N for awhile now but the person who has been working on it has said I would be better off with the bigger tractor. He's offering a 3400 diesel with pto (no loader) for the same price (because he's a friend of the family) but I'm not sure that a 3400 won't be 'overkill' for 5 acres?? We're starting a CSA and really need a tractor, but just not sure about this big diesel as I've had the mind-set of an 8N for so long. Am I crazy? Should I wait for the 8N or go with the big one? Thanks!
