Don, I do know these things, have had Massey's in the past. I had two row cultivator on a 150 MF and it was in no way comparable to my Super C for cultivation work. I also had a 285 in the early 80's that you couldn't keep a head gasket on. Other than that it was a fair tractor and great for mowing hillsides. In 22 inch rows any tire over 10 or 11 inches will severly limit the number of trips through the field with a cultivator. There is a reason so many Farmalls were sold in the day of wide spread cultivating. With the single front wheel and 9 inch rears a 4 row vegetable cultivator these tractor can not be out done for cultivating in close rows. I have used a 50 JD,WD AC and a couple others. When it comes to cultivating The Farmall leads the way over all others. All tobacco in KY is cultivated and by a large margin Farmalls be it a Super A/100/130/140/C/ Super C/200 or 230 do the vast majority of it. Even die hard JD men here have a Farmall or two to plow tobacco with. I am by no means belittling any tractor make, I am just saying that nothing is as good as a old Farmall for small to moderate scale cultivation work.
