you need to answer some questions on your own first.
Is this hay all for just your own use?
do you plan on selling it?
do you plan on selling it at the field to others with trailers or wagons for field pickup.
have some hilly ground?
is sheds large?
how far are you from your sheds if you have any?
If its all your own and you will have to unload by hand once anyway then to get it into the barn by elevator then Iwould go to bale basket wagon instead, they are very nice to use and simple.
if selling out of field accumulator and grapple work very nice you just load there units, with the grapple. This takes place alot in my fields.Hilly fields the bale wagons can have some issues,BUT so do SOME accumulator. Distance of travel is why I ended up going accumulator route haul 265 to load instead of little over hunderd in the bal wagons so it made for way less trips for me,and with the grapple you have alot more versatily. what do you have for loaders available now. Tractor or skidsteer unit, that also makes a difference regards to grapple. Yopu will need 3 hyd outlets or a splitter valve. They both can work if you are willing to figure them out and setup correxctly THOU. If large buildings and level, stack wagons yes would be nice anything else the accumulator setup will work in any situation if the laoder can get in. I think in KYhaymans situation he pulled in set stack off and had school kids restack the stacks in the barns,is what he talked about one time on here if I rememeber right. I t work for him. I wouldn't have a CHANCe at that thou. THEY CAN BOTH BE MADE TO WORK I know fellows that the have bale wagons and several with the accumulator setup. SOme love what they have and some don't. All I know is I run accumulator now for well over ten seasons and would never go to anything diferrent just because of the versatility. You do need to learn how to operate both and the baler you have must be able to make a relatively uniform bales with both setups. Especially the bale wagons they like them heavier also. Like Isaid befor give me a call if you want, been there done that as they say. Number is on earlier post or my website www.Ricksales.com PS If I was to do again it would be hands down accumulator, just because of versatility. You learn how to really run a grapple and you will say yourself why didn,t i do this SOONER. Ten grabs 100 bales already!!!!!! and didn't get a scratch on me!!! GOOd Luck

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
