Guy I often get hay from has stopped running other crops. More money in hay. Course that may change with increase in ethonal. He hauls hay from SW MN to the Twin Cities area. All of the horse owners doing business with him want the small squares. Seems its cheaper for them not to have to buy the equipment needed to move the rounds. Given the market he deals in he has set up a "re-baling" process where he can take round bales and unwind them into a side discharge feeder wagon feeding them into a square baler for repackaging. Uses a skid-steer with an attachment to place 8 bales on the trailer at a time. To make ends meet he also does custom baling for others. Round, large square or small square if you want it he'll do it.
