Rather than give a long drawn out answer of info you may know let me post a short answer and ask you to post questions of info you need. The # 1 wire must be keyed. You can use a toggle switch; push pull switch; any way to disconect and connet the current flow. A one way diode must be used so you can turn tractor off. Sounds like your wiring worked but it is time to do it right. Questions??????????
