I fully agree with you. My wife and I both drive early-90"s Suburbans, built like tanks. We have 3 young sons and I feel that protecting their lives is worth a whole lot more than getting 45 mpg in a rice buggy. Paying a few thousand more each year in gasoline to drive a structurally-sound vehicle is a good form of life insurance as far as I"m concerned. You"re right about all of the distracted drivers on the road fiddling with their cell phones and sound systems. It"s just a matter of time before a distracted driver plows into us again, so why risk our lives driving around in little death traps?
