It is peppy because of that C6 tranny. It is one of if not the best auto tranny ever used in pick up trucks. They can even be pull started due to having two pumps in them. I am not sure about that crank swap. The M engines are big blocks, The Windsor is a small block. I haven't tried it, but I dought it will work.
