I"ll second John on his proposal. I know cranking is faster with 12 volts, but they started all right 50 years ago. Are we saying we cannot keep them in tune as well as them "old-time" farmers who prolly only timed them staticallyand set up the carbs by ear? I ldidn"t spell it "olde-tyme", "cos it wasn"t that long ago!! One of the problems is they don"t make batteries like they used to. Progress, I suppose. Everybody(?) wants a cheap battery - and they are cheap compared to 50 years ago!
