If the startup or program disk that came with the computer is available, put it into the maachine. See if the machine will boot up then. It could possibly be the hard drive giving trouble. One safe and easy thing to try, especially if it is a desktop machine is to remove the cover. Unplug and plug back in the wires to the hard drive. Also, make sure that all the "cards" are firmly in place. Good luck. Hope this helps.
