The small discs open a slot in the soil for the drill
openers to drop seed into. It's basically a tiny bit of
tillage right in front of the disc openers on the drill.
There are probably press wheels in back that roll on the
slot and close it back over the seed. The system
eliminates a lot of tillage passes over the field saveing
fuel, time and soil.
